Community Guidelines
Catalysis is a space for spiritual growth, encouragement, and Christ-centred community. These guidelines help us maintain a healthy, welcoming environment for every believer.

Our Commitment to Unity
We serve believers across denominations, traditions, and cultures. We focus on what unites the body of Christ — the love of Jesus, the authority of Scripture, the power of prayer, and the call to serve one another — rather than the things that divide us. Every believer is welcome here, and every believer deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
What We Encourage
- Genuine encouragement — Build others up. Share what God is doing in your life. Celebrate others' victories and mourn with those who mourn.
- Honest, respectful dialogue — Ask questions, share perspectives, and engage in conversations with humility and a genuine desire to learn.
- Vulnerability and authenticity — Share your struggles and prayer requests. This is a safe space to be real about your faith journey.
- Cross-denominational fellowship — Engage with believers from different traditions. You'll be surprised how much you have in common.
- Accountability with grace — Hold each other accountable in love, not judgement. We're all works in progress.
- Reporting concerns — If you see something that doesn't belong, report it. You help us keep this community healthy.
What Is Not Allowed
- Divisive denominational attacks — Criticising, belittling, or attacking other denominations, worship styles, or theological traditions. You may share your own beliefs; you may not tear down others'.
- Anti-faith content — Content that mocks, ridicules, or undermines the Christian faith, the Bible, or the person of Jesus Christ.
- Controversial or inflammatory content — Content designed to provoke outrage, create division, or generate controversy within the Christian community. This includes but is not limited to doctrinal clickbait, politically charged religious commentary, and sensationalist spiritual claims.
- Harassment, bullying, or personal attacks — Targeting individuals with insults, threats, persistent unwanted contact, or demeaning language.
- Hate speech and discrimination — Content that promotes hatred or discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, gender, or any other characteristic. All people are made in the image of God.
- False teaching presented as established truth — Presenting personal interpretations or fringe doctrines as universally accepted Christian teaching in a way that misleads other believers.
- Spam, self-promotion, and solicitation — Unsolicited advertising, fundraising (outside official platform channels), or repeated promotion of personal ministries, products, or services.
- Sexually explicit or violent content — Any content that is pornographic, gratuitously violent, or otherwise inappropriate for a faith-based community.
- Impersonation or deception — Pretending to be someone you're not, including fake testimonies or fabricated spiritual experiences.
How We Moderate
We use a combination of community reporting, automated detection, and human review to maintain a healthy environment. Our moderation team reviews reported content with care and context, understanding that faith conversations can be nuanced.
Our process:
- Any user can report content or behaviour that violates these guidelines
- Our moderation team reviews reports within 48 hours
- We assess content in context — tone, intent, and impact are all considered
- We take proportionate action based on severity and pattern of behaviour
Enforcement & Consequences
We take a progressive approach to enforcement, but reserve the right to take immediate action for serious violations.
Warning
First-time or minor violations receive a private warning with explanation of the guideline breached.
Content Removal
Content that violates guidelines will be removed. The author is notified with the specific reason.
Shadow Ban
Repeated or pattern violations may result in reduced visibility of content without notification to the user.
Permanent Ban
Severe violations or persistent patterns of harmful behaviour will result in permanent account termination.
Immediate Ban Offences
The following may result in immediate permanent ban without prior warning: publishing content that creates widespread outcry in the Christian community, content that is generally considered anti-faith or blasphemous, predatory behaviour targeting vulnerable members, sharing sexually explicit content, or any illegal activity.
Catalysis reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to shadow ban, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban any user who publishes content or uses the platform in ways that create outcry in the Christian community, are generally considered anti-faith, or are deemed controversial or harmful to the health of the community. This includes content that may not explicitly violate a specific guideline above but is determined to be detrimental to the spirit of this community.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@catalysis.com. Please include the content in question and your reasoning. We will review all appeals and respond within 7 business days. Our decision on appeal is final.
Building This Community Together
These guidelines exist to protect and empower every member. When we each take responsibility for the health of this community, we create something beautiful — a space where believers can truly grow together.
